Terms of service

These terms apply when you visit Inzenzo or use an account on it. They are a legal agreement between you and Inzenzo, the operator of this website. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Last updated: 22 October 2026.

Who can use Inzenzo

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • You can browse most of the site without an account. You need an account to create formulas, evaluate ingredients, like, comment and see shared evaluations.
  • Give accurate details when you register, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has got into it.
  • One person, one account.

What you can expect from us

We run Inzenzo to give perfumers a place to look up materials, build and share formulas, evaluate materials, use a few tools and learn from each other. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions.

We keep improving the site. That means we may add, change or remove features, and some features may become paid in the future. If a feature becomes paid, we will tell you before the change affects you.

Your content

Your content is what you add to the site: formulas, notes, comments, evaluations, your profile and your photo.

You own it

Your content stays yours. These terms do not transfer ownership to us.

What you let us do with it

To run the site, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute your content on Inzenzo, and to make the technical copies and changes needed to do that (for example, resizing your photo or showing a formula as a card). If you choose to share something, you also let other people view it on the site. The licence lasts as long as your content is on the site and ends when you remove it, apart from copies in backups that are deleted on our normal schedule.

What is public and what is not

  • Formulas are public by default. Visitors who are not logged in, and search engines, can see a public formula, together with your display name and photo. You can make a formula private from the formula page or from My formulas, and then only you can see it. Making a formula private does not remove copies others have already taken. Sharing a private formula in the Notes feed makes it public.
  • Evaluations are private by default. Only you can see them. If you switch on sharing, the evaluation appears in Notes and on the ingredient page for logged-in members. Visitors who are not logged in see only the ingredient, the dilution and the date. You can switch sharing off or delete the evaluation at any time.
  • Comments and likes are visible to others on the formula they belong to.
  • Your profile is visible according to the site’s privacy settings and your own choices. See our Privacy policy for the details.

Your responsibility for it

You are responsible for your content. Only post what you have the right to post. If you share a formula that another person created, say so and make sure you are allowed to. Other members can read the formulas you publish and may make something similar, so think about this before you publish.

How to behave

Inzenzo works because members trust each other. Please do not:

  • post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that invades someone’s privacy;
  • pretend to be someone else, or give false details about yourself or your work;
  • post spam, advertising or links whose main purpose is to sell something, unless we have agreed to it;
  • copy, scrape or download large parts of the ingredient library or the community content, by hand or with software, without our written permission;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the site, or access accounts and data that are not yours;
  • upload malicious files or code;
  • share another person’s content as your own.

Giving a different opinion on a material or a technique is welcome. Attacking the person is not.

Information and safety

Inzenzo is an educational and reference resource. Please read this section carefully, because perfumery involves real safety and legal duties.

  • Ingredient details, IFRA information, calculator results and everything members share are provided for general information. They are not professional, medical, legal, regulatory or safety advice.
  • Ingredient details are compiled from public supplier references and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Olfactive families and descriptors follow our own lists and are a guide to how we group materials.
  • Before you formulate, test on skin, sell or ship anything, check your supplier’s safety data sheets, the current IFRA Standards and the rules that apply where you make and sell your products. You are responsible for your own compliance, including safety assessments and labelling of allergens.
  • Smelling and handling raw materials can cause reactions in some people. Use sensible precautions, such as good ventilation and the right dilutions, and stop if you feel unwell.
  • Inzenzo is an independent community. Names of suppliers, standards bodies and materials are used only to identify them.

Our content and rights

The Inzenzo name, logo, design, text, tools and the way the ingredient library is selected and organised belong to us or our licensors. You may use them to take part in the community and for your own personal or professional learning. You may not reproduce or sell them, or build a competing service from them, without our written permission.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything. We will not use your private evaluations for anything other than running the site for you.

Moderation and ending your account

We may review content, ask you to change it, hide it or remove it if it breaks these terms, if someone reports it with good reason, or if the law requires it. Posts, formulas and comments appear straight away, so we rely on reports from members and on our own checks. If you repeatedly or seriously break these terms, we may suspend or close your account. Where we can, we will tell you why.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, if your account is eligible. When you do, your profile, formulas, comments, likes and evaluations are deleted, as described in our Privacy policy. You can also stop using the site at any time.

If something goes wrong

Warranty

Inzenzo is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not promise that the information on it is complete or accurate.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Inzenzo and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of business that arises from your use of the site or from relying on information on it. Our total liability for any claim connected with the site is limited to the amount you paid us for the site in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded, or our liability for anything the law does not let us limit, such as fraud or death and personal injury caused by negligence.

Disagreements

If you have a problem, please use our contact form first. Most issues can be sorted out quickly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the site or the law changes. When the changes matter, we will tell you on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Inzenzo after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account. The date at the top shows when these terms were last updated.
