About Inzenzo

Where perfumers share their notes

Inzenzo, the Perfumer’s Notebook, is a social community for people who make perfume. Post your formulas, evaluations and favourite materials, see what others are blending, and talk it through. The raw-material data and tools you need at the bench are right alongside.

Everything you need at the bench

Ingredient library

Look up any material by name or CAS number. See its olfactive family, odor descriptors, odor impact, odor life and IFRA status on a single page.

Formula creator

Build a formula line by line, then share it with the community. Open any ingredient and see the formulas that use it.

Evaluations

Pick a material and a dilution, then follow it from the first sniff until it fades. Every evaluation is saved under the ingredient.

Perfumer’s tools

Look up a material’s IFRA status by CAS number and use the IFRA calculator to check your usage levels before you commit to a batch.

Keep a record of every sniff

Dilute a material, dip a strip and sniff briefly. Then answer the same questions from memory, with the strip away from your nose. Inzenzo guides each sniff, reminds you when the next one is due, and carries on until the smell is gone or loses its character.

  • Rate intensity, texture and descriptors, and note the feelings and memories a smell brings up.
  • Evaluations are private until you choose to share one with the community.
  • See every evaluation of an ingredient in one place, and export them to a spreadsheet.

Learn from each other’s work

Perfumery is learned by smelling, comparing and talking it through. The Journal is where we publish news, guides and ingredient deep-dives. Notes is where members take them up: what worked, what did not and what to try next.

What we believe

Easy to find, easy to check

Information about materials should not take an afternoon of searching. Every ingredient has one page with the facts side by side.

Built around the bench

Features start from what perfumers actually do: weigh, smell, adjust, write it down. If it does not help at the bench, it does not ship.

Safety is part of the craft

Regulatory limits belong next to the material, not in a separate document you open afterwards.

Yours until you share it

Your evaluations and formulas can stay private. You decide what you post to Notes and what goes on the ingredient page.

A note on our data

Ingredient details are compiled from public supplier references. Olfactive families and odor descriptors follow our own standard lists, so they are a guide to how we group materials, not a verdict. Formulas and evaluations are members’ own work and opinions, not professional advice. Before you formulate or sell anything, check your supplier’s documentation and the current IFRA Standards. Read our Terms and Privacy policy for the details.
